Utah Intelligent Electrified Transportation
In a bold endeavor, Utahns are working together to develop an action plan for the electrification of our transportation system over the next 30 years in response to Senate Bill 125, passed by State Legislature in 2023.
Join us in shaping the Utah’s future transportation system.
Empowering Utah’s Future
Access to transportation is a key component for a high quality of life. A lack of transportation options creates barriers to education, jobs, health, and recreational opportunities that we all need to find fulfillment and enjoyment in our lives.
Based on 10-year phasing cycles, the Utah Intelligent Electrified Transportation Action Plan establishes processes to design, fund, and build a highly reliable electrified transportation system (ETS) that intelligently communicates with traffic management systems and the electrical grid.

Areas of Focus
As Utah prepares to welcome the world for the 2034 Winter Olympic Games, this initiative presents a unique opportunity to showcase an ideal intelligent electrified transportation system — innovated by Utahns and unlike anything else in the world.
The success of this initiative hinges on support from local and regional communities, industry stakeholders, plus local and state government entities. Planning efforts also consider regional nuances as electrification is not one-size-fits-all. We encourage participation from every corner of the state to ensure a higher quality of life for everyone in the state.
